Pink Sands on Harbour Island // Bahamas May 2022

I just got back from Pink Sands on Harbour Island in the Bahamas with a group of about 40 people.  Here are some quick notes about this destination/resort.  I LOVED it!  It was so much fun, but you will need to be a little adventurous for this Island. It was a little dicey at the airport leaving as they make you go 2-3 hours in advance and it is a very little airport.  There are some shops and places you can buy beer. Jimmy’s bar is right across the street from the airport, but they are not open on Sunday’s which is the day we flew home.

Fly into ELH

  • Taxi to port – 5 minutes
  • Boat over to Harbour Island – 5 minutes.  This was an experience.  They had about 20 cases of beer in the middle of our boat and we went over with locals and vendors. On our return we had privatized boats due to our large number of people on return flights.
  • Taxi to Pink Sands – 5 minutes
  • In total it is about 20-25 minutes to get to the resort once you clear customs.

Pink Sands

  • Offers garden and Ocean front cottages – roughly $1K for the night when you add 30% service fees.
  • Currently 29 cottages, soon they will open a few more Ocean Front with plunge pools! Beautiful.
  • Best beach!!  Blue Bar overlooks the beach and is the main hang out. Just gorgeous!
  • Beach service is offered – you can order cocktails and food on the beach
  • Make sure to buy the golf carts too – about $75/day – well worth it to get around the island
  • 2 dining options – Blue bar for breakfast and lunch and Malcom 51 for dinner.  Everything shuts down by 9:00 pm, but people went out to the clubs after dinner.  Easy golf cart ride.
  • Explore the island, get local, take your cart all over.  It is very small and easy to get around.  Key places – the Dunmore (great food), Arthurs Bakery (very popular), the landing, the lone tree, and so many more!

Local DMC – Conch and Coconut (contact – SHAQ)

  • They put together an exceptional 4-hour excursion including visits to swim with the sea turtles, Pig island and a sand bar in the middle of the ocean. This was the groups favorite stop, that sand bar is amazing!  We also had lobster on a private beach after for lunch. They killed it with food and service.
  • We also bought a “Junkanoo” through C&C to surprise the group at the final dinner.  They came in doing John Denver – take me home country road, so funny.  Very fun! Only about a 15 minute performance, but got the crowd going before we hit the beach for a bonfire after dinner.
