A Whole “Rotta” Love

One of our Senior Travel Consultants, Gene, volunteers for A Rotta Love Plus, an organization that is dedicated to re-homing Rottweiler’s and pit bulls in Minnesota, raising breed awareness, educating the public about responsible pet ownership, and advocating for the humane and equal treatment of all dogs without prejudice. This organization is run 100% with volunteers led by a team of steadfast breed advocates, A.K.A. “total pit bull and Rottweiler geeks”! A few examples of how they impact the lives of dogs in the community can be seen in some of the following programs:

  • Priority Paws Program which serves youth crisis groups in Hennepin and Ramsey Counties
  • Get Your Fix Fairs offering free spays, neuters and vaccinations and low cost microchips
  • Special Rescue Initiatives from other states and countries

Here's what Gene has to say about being part of this great cause:

"I personally take part in the Get Your Fix Fairs and also foster Rottweiler’s to prepare them to be adopted to their forever homes. Sometimes, their forever homes end up being my home, like four so far in the last 5 years! My most recent foster was last year, a sweet little Rottie girl who came to my rescue group from Puerto Rico. I named her J.Lo, fostered her for several months and gave her forever home with my family. Helping these two very much misunderstood breeds and the people who love them is my passion!"
