Arrive early in the morning into Dublin. Upon arrival you will be met by our representatives and transferred to your hotel. Note that with the early arrival, your hotel room will probably not be ready. You can check any bags with the bellman at the hotel and head out to start exploring the city of Dublin. Your day is free until this evening when you have a welcome reception and dinner at the hotel.

After breakfast at the hotel, it is in Trinity Library where you start your visit today. Trinity College was founded by Elizabeth I in 1592 and Trinity is the sole college of Dublin University. The Old Library houses some 200,000 of the college’s collection of more than 2 million volumes. The most priceless manuscript it has is the Book of Kells, a Latin text of the Four Gospels with illuminated pages, which dates from about AD 800.

Travel down Dame Street to visit St Patrick’s Cathedral. Jonathon Swift, the author of Gulliver’s Travels, was once the dean in this Cathedral and today Swift’s tomb is in the south aisle. This cathedral is one of the finest examples of Gothic Architecture in Dublin. You will also get an opportunity to view the Georgian Squares of which Dublin is famous and get a guided panoramic tour of the city.

Next you will visit The Guinness Storehouse, a historical and cultural landmark in Dublin city. Here you will learn how the famous brew is made, and discover the secrets of Guinness as well as sample it! A warehouse of the original brewery (founded in 1759), it has been transformed into a hi-tech visitor center covering 6 floors. Containing 3 bars, the visit culminates with a pint of the ‘black stuff’ in the Gravity Bar on the 6th floor of the center, (Dublin’s highest pub) where you can also enjoy 360-degree views over the city. Lunch is included today.

After your tour, return to your hotel where the remainder of your day and evening is free.

Today you depart on a discovery of Dublin’s northern coastline. You will visit Malahide Castle which is set on 250 acres of park land in the pretty seaside town of Malahide. This once was both a fortress and a private home for nearly 800 years and offers an interesting mix of architectural styles. The Talbot family lived here from 1185 to 1973, when the last Talbot died. The house is furnished with beautiful period furniture together with an extensive collection of Irish portrait paintings, mainly from the National Gallery.

The tour also takes you past magnificent coastal scenery to Howth Harbor. Howth is a small fishing and yachting port, and a popular suburban resort on the north side of Dublin. Howth head, a huge rocky mass, has lovely views of Dublin Bay and the Wicklow Mountains. In the bay is Ireland’s eye, an islet and bird sanctuary where puffins nest. Enjoy an included lunch at Gibney’s Pub in Malahide.

Return to Dublin where your evening includes a Pub Dinner at a local establishment.

After breakfast at your hotel, you will depart Dublin and travel to the southwest of the country to the village of Killarney. Enroute you will visit the Rock of Cashel and Blarney Castle. The Rock of Cashel, iconic in its historic significance, possesses the most impressive cluster of medieval buildings in Ireland. Among the monuments to be found there is a round tower, a high cross, a Romanesque chapel, a Gothic cathedral, an abbey, the Hall of the Vicars Choral and a fifteenth-century Tower House. After spending some time here, you will continue to the famous Blarney Castle. If you wish, you can climb the castle and kiss the famous Blarney Stone to obtain the gift of eloquence. Or you can spend some time perusing the wares at the Blarney Woollen Mills. Lunch is included today.

Continue on to Killarney and check into your hotel. This evening includes a welcome dinner at the hotel.

Ireland’s second highest mountain, Mount Brandon, is situated to the north of the island, reaching a height of 3,100 feet. To the west of the peninsula lie the Blasket Islands, a group of six principal islands and several smaller ones. The town is one of the most visited in Ireland and has received many accolades. Time will be available to find lunch on your own today in the town of Dingle.

After breakfast, you will begin your return to Dublin. Enroute, stop in one of Ireland’s most charming medieval cities, Kilkenny. Beginning at the impressive Kilkenny Castle, admiring its striking architecture and beautifully landscaped grounds before strolling through the city’s historic streets. The route passes along the Medieval Mile, where centuries of history come to life through landmarks such as Rothe House, a well-preserved 16th-century merchant’s residence, and St. Canice’s Cathedral, one of Ireland’s most important ecclesiastical sites. Enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of Kilkenny’s narrow lanes, colorful shopfronts, and traditional pubs while learning about the city’s Norman origins, wealthy merchant families, and rich cultural heritage. Following lunch, participate in an Irish coffee making demonstration and discover the techniques used to create the perfect balance of rich coffee, smooth Irish whiskey, brown sugar, and lightly whipped cream.
